Peer-to-peer volume has seen a spike in several markets, with the Kazakh (and Singaporean Localbitcoins) markets recording their second-strongest weeks ever. The volume of Polish peer-to-peer (P2P) trade increased by 14 months this week.

BTC’s current price action seems to have caused a rise in Localbitcoins trading volume across different markets. Many traders are likely preparing for various scenarios as BTC tests support close to the low of the 2018 bear market.

 

The volume spike in Singapore’s P2P market this week was significant. Localbitcoins saw approximately 145 BTC change hands during the week of February 2.

The week was the strongest in terms of fiat currency trade activity between the Singapore Dollar (SGD), and BTC with 683,302 Singapore dollars (nearly US$504,000 worth) of trades being made on Localbitcoins.

Eastern European Localbitcoins Trade Ralies to Pre-2018 Volume Levels

 

Other Eastern European markets have witnessed an increase in trading activity following a surge in Russian P2P transactions. This is despite the expected retest by BTC of the $3,000 resistance zone.

 

Kazakh Localbitcoins traded 22 BTC in trades, the second most BTC changed hands in a single week.

February 2nd was also the strongest week ever recorded, with 28.36million Kazakhstani tenge ($75,000 worth) of trade.

The Polish Localbitcoins Market posted a 14-month record for trade volume. 23 BTC ($77,000) of trade took place between Polish Zloty and BTC.

Venezuela’s P2P Market Maintains Record Volume on Shelter Humanity

 

This week saw a record number of BTC traded on the Venezuelan Localbitcoins exchange, with roughly 2,004 BTC (roughly $6.75million) in trade.

The volume of Venezuelan P2P trading was also record when measured in fiat currency. This week saw 17.34 billion Venezuelan bolivars worth BTC trading on the platform over the week of February 2.
